Instructor : Nina Munteanu
Think of storytelling as building a house. You need a blueprint, foundation, frame, and final polished design that will reflect your initial idea. And you need to build to code, or else your house falls apart or your house owner won’t want to live in it. Join internationally published author Nina Munteanu as she guides you through the steps of constructing a sound foundation of storytelling from the smallest building block–the scene and sequel–into world-building that will reflect your idea, premise and theme.
Compelling writing with a page-turning story is not just a function of good language and an action-packed story. A compelling story relies on the professionality of the author to deliver on a promise. This is only possible if the author has the tools to build a credible and believable story.
Learn essential tools of sound story construction. Learn about scene-sequel, settings and world-building from an author acclaimed for her imaginative building of worlds. Students are expected to bring in and discuss their own works. Workshop includes lectures, use of examples, discussions, exercises, readings and some writing.
